Learning at Home - K4 Week 2, Day 2

We all needed to get out of the house, and we also needed a few groceries, so I decided to turn a trip to the grocery store into a field trip!  Abbie had so much fun on this trip... we played Grocery Store Bingo!!

She was so excited each time she found an item on her Bingo card!  

And she learned about vegetables and other foods that she had never heard of, or payed any attention too in the past!  She would ask what it was when she found it, and we talked about taste, and texture!

The produce department was her biggest score!

The Bakery & the Meat Department were next...

She had never seen a whole fish this up close!  She said, "people eat that?!?!"

We realized after marking the fish, that she had Bingo!!  She was allowed to choose her "prize"... 

Nutella & Breadsticks were her choice!

She said this was the most fun she had ever had in the grocery store!  I even had another mom (who had 3 kids with her) ask where she could get a Bingo card to use!!  As a homeschool parent, you have to look for teaching opportunities anywhere, and this was a really fun "field trip" for us!
